World’s first test area is open to anyone wishing to test autonomous maritime traffic, vessels or technologies related to it. The area is called “Jaakonmeri Test Area” in remembrance of Dr. Jaakko Talvitie who contributed to the historical creation before his untimely passing.
Jaakonmeri is located on the west coast outside the municipality of Eurajoki.
